Fill PDF Forms with PHP, MySQL etc.

Problem: Need to Post oder Fetch Data from Server and put it into a PDF for Download / Browser view

Solutions: Many. My best working approach: get PDFTK-PHP (opensource). Easy, fast, working. See http://www.andrewheiss.com/blog/2009/06/19/pdftk-php-officially-released/

Note: You need pdftk compiled on your server as well as safe mode off. In our case, that was quite a problem because gentoo would not compile it. Finally changed GCC to 4.3.2 and emerged pdftk 1.41 (still masked at that time)

You may like to take a look at phpLiveDocx. It does EXACTLY what you want and is dead easy to use – http://is.gd/2eNvb

      Hi Jonathan,
thanks for the hint. I took a look at phpLiveDocX. There is just one question: can I use a PDF as input – you just mention docx documents for templates. Because thats what it’s actually about (at least in our workflow).

I happened to come across this website http://goo.gl/rOcB2U when I was looking for a perfect way to edit PDF files. I would really recommend this, no software to download and install. It’s a great service you can upload your own PDF file so you can edit or fill it out online and sign the document, save, print, email and even fax it. Also you can find the right fillable form anytime using the form search engine that contains more than 10 Million forms. Works out well for me so I’m sharing.
